We have been producing wine and extra virgin olive oil exclusively from our vineyards and olive groves for generations - with respect for nature and with passion.

Azienda Agricola Balbi - Fattoria il Capitano is our family business in the heart of Tuscany, in the hills between Arno and Sieve, just a few kilometers from Florence. The company has been producing Chianti for more than a century, once in the Consortium of Chianti Putto and now Chianti Rùfina.

It is a “female” entrepreneurship founded in 1877 at the request of Francesca Campanari Balbi. Since then we have been working according to family tradition and maintaining the values ​​of the company.

With 13 hectares of vines exposed to the sun and gently sloping, the altitude and cool temperatures that surround the vines mean that Fattoria il Capitano's wines have a noble, elegant and long-lasting character. Its top products are the Chianti Rùfina DOCG Riserva and the Vinsanto del Chianti Rùfina DOC, a real Tuscan excellence with international awards.

The estate also owns 22 hectares of olive groves and markets its Extra Virgin Olive Oil, an exquisite Tuscan cold-pressed oil, in bottles and tins.
